Prof. Muhammad Yunus talks on social business at ULAB

 

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) invited Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus to deliver a keynote speech on Social Business on August 11, 2016. 

Juditha Ohlmacher, Member of BOT, ULAB welcomed Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, popularly known as the “Banker to the Poor”.

In his speech, Prof. Yunus highlighted the pertinence of social business in concurrent world. He said the purpose of social businesses is to collaborate with each other. Prof. Yunus stressed on the idea of three zeros – zero poverty, zero unemployment and zero net carbon emission. 

Lamiya Morshed, Executive Director of the Yunus Centre, provided an overview of the mission of the Yunus Centre. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Imran Rahman, VC, ULAB. Earlier, Assistant Professor Niaz Morshed Patwary from ULAB School of Business presented the biography of Prof. Yunus. Member of BOT Taheerah Haq, Pro-VC Prof. H.M. Jahirul Haque, Registrar Lt. Col. Foyzul Islam (Retd.), many distinguished guests and foreign dignitaries, professors, faculties, students of ULAB were present in the talk.
