Social Business Youth Summit (SBYS) is a unique platform, comprised of leading youths, where youths can interact with the most insightful and knowledgeable people in the world of social business. It is an annual event organised by SBYA (Social Business Youth Alliance) Global where the main aim is to help youngsters so that they can be connected with the real life hustlers in social business scene. Moreover, this youth summit has provided the resources in terms of both theoretical knowledge and phases of social business in reality. For these reasons, this year, the participants came to get knowledge about the dynamics and impacts of social business and learn about the necessity of social business in present world.

To begin with, this summit facilitated communities that want to contribute to the society by changing or pursuing the development of various aspects. For example- the communities of students, entrepreneurs and activists had an opportunity to make a difference. As a result, SBYS has been graced with a combined participation of 2,300 participants from 28 countries. This year SBYS attempted to create next generation social business into entrepreneurs who will be able to deal with all kinds of situations with maintainable solutions. This year 350 young minds got the opportunity to get knowledge about social business from a summit where Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus shared his messages and thoughts as the key note speaker, along with more than 30 different speakers from around the world. The summit was held on Aug 12-13, 2016 at  Hotel Westin, Dhaka.

This programme was primarily designed for university students to show their skills and creativity in generating solutions for problems with sustainable and practical social business ideas. Participants had the chance to win award from the Nobel Laureate and funding to materialize the social business idea, Social Business champ 2016 provided teams an experiential learning opportunity so that they can be more practical in business and also can increase their business skills.

The two day celebration of youth achievement was also graced by power houses like H. E. Wanja Campos Da Nóbrega- ambassador of Brazil to Bangladesh, Lamiya Morshed- Executive Director of Yunus Centre, Tafsir M. Awal- Director of Multimode Group,  Nurjahan Begum- Managing Director of Grameen Shakti, M. K. Aaref- Director of EMK Centre, Professor Abdul Hannan Chowdhury-Pro Vice-chancellor of Eastern University, Boudewijn Sterk- Manager of Innovation Fund under Blue Gold Programme, M. Shahjahan- Former Managing Director of Grameen Bank, Tanbir Siddiqui- President and CEO of Changemakers and Shourav Islam- Founder of Digital Express.

The closing ceremony included a showcase of the Olympic torch borne by the Nobel Laureate, brought as a mark of his recent status and responsibility as an Olympic Torchbearer.
