Country Forum Guideline

13th Annual Social Business Day 2023

War, Peace & Economics: Future of Humans

Some Guidelines for Organising Country Forums:

On June 27th, 2023, day 1 of Social Business Day, we will be hosting the Country Forums event which will take place in Langkawi, Malaysia at Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi for two hour.

A minimum of 15 participants is required to establish a country forum.

Each Forum will be organized by a Country Forum Organising Committee. The Organising Committee will consist of several members and will be headed by a chair, supported by one or more co-chairs. The Committee Chair will work with the Country Forum Coordinator at the Yunus Centre. The Chair and the Country Forum Coordinator at Yunus Centre should get in touch with each other as soon as possible.

Our preference is for each session to be conducted in the native language of the participants' country, with the option to use English if necessary.

The Chair will also be responsible for the dissemination of all information from and between their respective Country Forum and the Yunus Centre.

The Chair may assign another member of the Organising Committee as the designated contact person instead. All such changes must be communicated promptly to Yunus Centre.

The Organising Committee is expected to confirm the number of persons expected to attend each Forum and are encouraged to invite participants from youth organisations, women’s rights advocacy groups, athletes, environmentalists, academic organisations, NGOs, media representatives, etc. All attendees should be registered ahead of time.

The Chair is requested to send the names of the members of each country forum, as well as a list of possible speakers and panellists.

Furthermore, we aim to incorporate a global network of 3ZERO Clubs into the Country Forums this year again. You may get more information on our website https://3zero.club/.

You may present this topic in your panel discussion. This may encourage the forum audience and participants to foster active communication with the 3Z Global Centre and offer them invaluable networking opportunities.

All Country Forums are invited to consider how a club of this structure may be beneficial to the future of their respective countries.

We encourage each Forum to designate note-takers, such that they are able to produce a short summary report in English that contains suggestions for the future. In addition to the English report, Forums may also produce reports in the language in which their discussions took place.

The Chair may direct any inquiries regarding the Forum to Lamiya Morshed,  Executive Director of the Yunus Centre at lamiya@grameen.org and to Urmee Hossain, Senior Program Officer at urmee@yunuscentre.org

Sessions:

Each Forum will organise its own sessions and their topics.

The Forum can organise multiple sessions and  discussions on various topics related to the theme of “War, Peace & Economics: Future of Human Beings.”

Brief speeches, panel discussions, moderated talks, presentations, etc. are also encouraged.

Finally, the Forum should conclude with an open feedback session for constructive criticism and networking among the delegates present and future interested persons.

We request that the CHAIR of the Organising Committee of the Country Forum send us the names of the members of the ORGANISING COMMITTEE by 1st July, 2023.

After the list of members of the Organising Committee has been finalised, the Chair is requested to submit said list to the Yunus Centre at their earliest convenience.
